Burn Out
When the sun runs out of helium to burn, it will start to expand as a red giant. During this time period, the sun will slowly grow outwards millions of times its current size in an attempt to stay stable, all the while engulfing most of the planets in the solar system. This is what Tora deals with every day.
Tora Reynolds is a seventeen year old, guarding humanity’s most lethal weapons ever built, built by her father. Her entire family is dead, her sister and mother from the hot sun. She lives in a bunker beneath earth’s surface and is slowly running out of supplies, while most other humans have left Earth already. Every day it gets hotter, and she knows eventually time is going to run out.
Eventually she is visited by an untrustworthy friend, and she has to decide how much she is going to risk the weapons getting into the wrong hands.
This book is a high-quality written book, and keeps the storyline with enough twists to keep the reader interested, but keeps it all under control. It has enough variety and thoughts in the characters to satisfy anybody, and has a killer of an ending!
