Belluna’s Big Adventure in the Sky: A Dance-It-Out Creative Movement Story for Young Movers

Belluna’s Big Adventure in the Sky is a fun story about people with balloon heads! I loved this story and it had a great message in it! Life would be boring if everyone was the same! Belluna and her family could FLY! I got scared when Belluna got swept up into the storm and I felt sad for her when she wished she could be normal, just like everyone else. When the storm stopped and Belluna could start enjoying the views, that made me happy because she wasn’t scared anymore and she learned something new! (she could fly!!). I love the colors in this book; they are very pretty and very detailed. I also really liked the cat and the hamster!

In real life, I loved the book because it taught me a new dance. It kept me moving while my mom read me the story! I like how detailed the pictures of Konora were. When I got confused about dancing, we could look at the pictures. I also love to ice skate, so I think it is neat that in the story her brother likes ice skating (like me!) and Belluna likes basketball (like my sisters!). This shows that even kids who are different than others have strengths and weaknesses (Baylun’s was skating and Belluna’s was basketball!).

I wish I could be a balloon like Belluna and her family! I wish I could say I looked down on a rainbow and learned to float in the breeze! There are other books in this series and I am asking for them for Christmas and my birthday! I highly recommend this book to anyone but especially kids. And especially to any kids who think they are different than everyone else––because being different is awesome!
