Autonomous

This a a sci-fi, adventure story that takes you on a wild ride to the unexpected. William Mackler thinks he’s hit the jackpot when he wins a driverless car and gets to bring three friends along for the cross country ride. This is no ordinary car. Autonomous knows where he wants to go before he even articulates it. More importantly, it also knows more about each of its passengers than they might ever want known. There is drag-racing, kidnapping, drugs, alcohol, cutting, discussions about self-harm, fighting, and sex between minors. The writing is not especially compelling, goes in many directions, and there is a great overuse of profanity. There are also attempts at humor about things that are simply too serious to be funny. This book is not appropriate for teenagers at all because there are too many adult topics and not enough attention to “teaching a lesson” where these are concerned. Maybe the only lesson is to not put your business out on social media. For some people, this might be a good read if you like action and adventure mixed with teenagers doing lots of inappropriate things. I am not that type of teen.
