Go Away, Worry Monster!
A boy is trying to go to sleep one night before he starts school the next morning. He wants to be ready for the next day, but his worry monster comes into his bedroom. Go Away, Worry Monster!is what the boy tells it. The worry monster doesn’t leave but instead tells him things that he should worry about at school. The boy has to decide whether to worry about the things it says or think about them and see if they’re actually true.
The story will be good for me to remember when I feel upset about something; it gives me tricks to beat my worry monster. There aren’t many of the boy’s feelings that I have felt before, but now I know how to handle them if I do. I like the story and the pictures, too; I like the purple color in them all. The worry monster looks funny, and like the monster-thing in Vegetales, it keeps getting bigger the more the boy worries about things. It was fun to read how the boy figured out what to do on his own.
