RACCOON RESCUE
Raccoon Rescue is about four baby raccoons, called kits, whose mother was trapped, and the kits were left alone. The four kits were rescued by WildCare in San Rafael, California. The names of the kits were Miss Pink, Mr. Blue, Miss Orange, and Mr. Green; each one was named after what color their nails were painted. Shelly is the person who takes care of the kits through their rescue, recovery, rehabilitation, and their release.
Raccoon Rescue is probably the best book I have ever reviewed because it is nonfiction, and I love learning about real things that have happened. It shows many photos of the raccoons and has educational information like what a kit needs and places raccoons live. I can sort of relate to what Shelly was feeling when taking care of the raccoons. I foster cats, and I have had some kittens die or close to dying. I imagine that the raccoon kits must have been close to dying without their mom, and they made it thanks to Shelly. This book reminded me of my aunt who was taking care of a kit a few years ago, and she told me stories about the little kit. I would recommend Raccoon Rescue to kids who want to learn more about raccoons or who love reading about nature.
