3, 2, 1, Go!
Lydia, age four, helped me to review the book 3, 2, 1, GO!. Since she is in preschool, I felt that she would be qualified to review a book about numbers and counting. Her review of the book: I like the animals in the book. There is a cat, panther, tiger, cheetah, puma, kangaroo, giraffe, seal, monkey, bear, hippo, alligator, fox, lion, zebra, panda, pig, bunny, dog, beaver, flamingo, turtle, ostrich, elephant, and cow in the book. They are racing, jumping, swinging, swimming, playing tennis, eating popcorn, walking, playing golf, shooting arrows, riding bikes, fighting, and getting medals. Lydia was able to count with me up to ten but then had some trouble from eleven through twenty. She never verbally said, but I know that she understands the act of competing and winning a medal, as did the animals at the end receiving their gold, silver, and bronze medals, and then there being declared one winning team. As the adult reading the book to her, I appreciated the “older” looking illustrations with the colors and the simplicity on each page. This is a great book for learning numbers and learning about the Olympics.
