Black Belt Bunny
Black Belt Bunny is a karate bunny. This bunny is sneaky, strong, and fast, but there’s one thing he does not know how to do – make a salad! He has to use his cool karate kicks and chops to slam, slice, whack, and bam the vegetables. He does all sorts of vegetables until the salad is almost done. There’s one more thing. The salad dressing looks like complicated science, so that’s fun. It turns out salads are fun to make, which is the lesson he learns.
My favorite animal is a bunny, so it makes it especially fun for me to read this book. I like when the narrator is talking to him and he says funny things about him, like, “Oh my, that is quite a lot of excitement.” This is when Black Belt is hopping around from one foot to the other foot to the head. I also like how the bunny moves in this book because the pictures at the front and at the end of the action are colorful real Black Belt Bunnies, but the pictures in the middle or behind him are shown just as outlines, with no actual color. This is to show all his moves. I think little kids would like this book because it’s funny and the pictures are amazing. You can really see the action, especially when he’s slashing and bamming the vegetables.
