Pete With No Pants
Pete is an elephant. At first, Pete likes boulders. He tries to play the knock-knock game with the boulders, but they won’t play back. Pete decides boulders are the worst! Then Pete decides to be a squirrel, but the squirrels think Pete is a boulder because he is big, gray, and he is not wearing pants. When Pete tries to talk to them, the squirrels think Pete is a hungry, talking boulder, so they yell, “RUN!”
I like how all the characters are confused about what everyone else is – are they a boulder? A squirrel? A pigeon? An elephant? I like the illustrations because they are funny and pretty.
My favorite part of the story is when all the squirrels get freaked out by Pete and run! Their scared faces are so hilarious!
I think everybody should read this book because it is so funny. The author writes books very well, so everyone should enjoy his good writing! I am going to look up more books that have been written by him so I can read those books, too.
