The Cat Who Came In off the Roof
Tibbel works for a newspaper company, but his boss is angry at him because all he does is write about cats. One day while he is walking home, Tibbel, who is very shy, sees a lady run up a tree when she sees a dog chasing her. Tibbel helps her down, and Tibbel finds out she used to be a cat who got turned into a human. So then Miss Minou, the cat lady, helps him because she can still speak to the cats, and almost everyone in the town has a cat, and the cats overhear all the conversations. So Miss Minou talks to them about what they hear, and then Tibbel puts it into the newspaper.
This book was exciting and gripping. The news the cats told was sometimes funny, like when the school cat, who listened in on history lessons, reported the news that Henry VIII just got divorced! Some exciting news was when a cat discovered that the person who was supposed to be caring for animals was actually mean to them. But the best part of the book was about Tibbel and Miss Minou, and how they got to be friends.
