Darkmouth #1: The Legends Begin
Darkmouth: The Legends Begin is the first book in a series. It is about a boy named Finn and how he is destined to rid the world of Legends (mythical Greed monsters). But sadly he is not a very good Legend Hunter. You see, Darkmouth is one of the Blighted Villages. That means Legends come out of portals. But the sad thing is Darkmouth is the only Blighted Village left. All of the citizens in Darkmouth wonder about this. So Finn is very confused about this. The thing that is weird is that one of the Legends talks to Finn about this prophecy. The story picks up when Finn’s dad might have found a way to desiccate (trap) all of the Legends. Finn’s dad had been waiting to use this machine because he had to have a great power source, and the Legends keep dropping crystals that make the portals. But when they run a test with a live Legend, Finn’s goldfish, Bubbles, disappears.
I think this book was action-packed and it ended with a huge cliffhanger. I think people who like How To train Your Dragon would love this story. It sort of starts out slow but it picks up in the middle.
