Daredevil Duck
There is a duck that wants to be brave, but he isn’t. He’s scared of heights, he’s scared of things that are moving, and of places that are too dark. He wants to be a superhero, but he isn’t. One day, he is floating on the lake when a mole pops out of the bushes and scares him. He swims out of the lake and pedals his bike all the way through everything scary, but comes back to where he started. The mole asks him to rescue his balloon, and the duck didn’t think he could, but the mole told him he had just gone through all those scary things, so the duck climbed up and got the balloon! Then the mole was so happy about it that the duck finally felt brave.
I like this book so much because it’s nice how at first he thinks he can’t do things but then he does. The pictures are very colorful. My favorite picture is the very ending one, where the duck is flying in front of a big banner that says, “Daredevil Duck!” because the mole and all the ducks are there too and they know that he really is brave.
