The Explorer
The Explorer is a thrilling story of four children stranded in the Amazon Rainforest. Fred has grown up on the stories of brave explorers and sees this as his ticket to becoming one of them. Lila, who has read everything there is to read on animals, just wants to get her little brother, Max, home. And Con, the sharp-tongued second-oldest, is highly doubtful they can do anything and is all for waiting to be rescued. But with the wreckage of their plane burnt and the dangers of the jungle close at hand, these five strangers have no choice but to help each other out, despite their very different opinions of the situation. They are plagued by bees, fire, arguments, unsafe water, four-year-old Max’s tantrums, and fear. But they are not helpless, and they are not alone. Another mysterious person has left behind a trail that may or may not lead them home. The Explorer is most definitely a just-one-more-chapter-please kind of book, and if you’re a fan of adventure, it is definitely for you. So grab your gear and get ready to go, but be warned, it will be no easy trip. So come follow Fred, Con, Lila, and Max as they walk the most uncharted path of all: the Amazon Rainforest.
