National Geographic Kids Chapters: Scrapes With Snakes: True Stories of Adventures With Animals (NGK Chapters)
Scrapes with Snakes is about the adventures of Brady Barr and his research about snakes. He goes all over the world looking for the biggest, thickest, and longest snakes anywhere. He tries to see if stories about giant snakes and serpentine creatures are actually real.
I love this book. I liked learning about the animals, and I especially liked how he told the funny stories. The one with his sock was very funny. My very favorite story in the book was the last one with the Anaconda. It sounded like the coolest snake. They learned so much about it, and they captured two snakes and then captured the giant, super big snake. Anacondas can be bigger than two daddies!
The pictures in the book were really really good. They looked really cool. They were very realistic and showed you about all the snakes and Brady’s adventures along the way. But, my favorite picture was the picture of Robo-Weasel. Robo-Weasel was awesome.
I think it might be scary for little kids. I think the age group would be 6 and above, but younger, if they do not find animals and snakes scary.
