The Treasure Map is the fourth story in the Museum Kittens series, which is about a family of four kittens who live with their mom and grandpa in a museum and protect the museum objects from the rats who could destroy things.

This story begins with the four kittens outside, looking at clouds and thinking of their shapes. One of the boys, Boris, decides that it looks like a ship, maybe a pirate ship! There is a pirate ship in the museum, so the kittens go to look at it and find the group of rats nearby, talking about a treasure map that they found. This gets the kittens curious and jealous. The kittens go on an adventure around the museum and through the ship to see if there is really treasure anywhere.

I have only read one other Museum Kittens story, the second one, and will read the third next. Reading them out of order wasn’t confusing because things are explained in the story that you would need to know, and each story/adventure is different. I could understand the story fine, but I wasn’t able to guess the ending until I got to it.
