Snail’s Ark
Esther wakes up early. A large and dangerous storm is brewing; she can already feel it. Everyone has already left to find shelter. Hurry, hurry, hurry! Everything seems to be frantic. She has to find her friend, Solomon. When Esther finds Solomon, they both have to get going, and it is starting to rain. Can the two slow but hopeful snail friends get to shelter in time?
I wanted to review this book because I love snails. I loved the drawings in this book, and I loved the cute, brave snails in the story. The author of this book based Snail’s Ark on a different story that did not have any snails as characters. This story has gorgeous and rhythmic drama, and I really liked all of the nature, water, and colors bursting inside the art. It seems that the snails were drawn with a very unique and beautiful art style. I think the illustrator used watercolor, crayon, and acrylic paint, and possibly markers for all of the drawing materials. I recommend this book to people who like animals and are snail lovers.
