Don’t Worry, Murray
Don’t Worry, Murray is the story of a little dog, probably a puppy, who is afraid of everything. Murray is afraid of the rain outside because he thinks he might drown. He is afraid of a new dog he meets at the park because he thinks the dog might take his toy. He is afraid of a barbeque with lots of people because he thinks there might be fireworks. Murray thinks more and more about what he is afraid of until he is really scared. Murray listens to the reader and tries the activity anyways, which makes him a good boy! Murray then feels better about himself for being brave and trying new things.
The author of Don’t Worry, Murray also wrote one of my favorite books, Interrupting Chicken, so I had high hopes for this one; this story didn’t have as much of a story as his other book, but it is still a good one with a good reminder to try to be brave because it will help you feel better about yourself. The pictures are bright and colorful and show what’s happening in the story, even when there are no words on the page.
