Christmas Eve with Veranda Santa (Bluey)
I love watching the show Bluey because Bluey and her family are always playing fun games with each other. In the book Bluey: Christmas Eve with Veranda Santa, Bluey, Bingo, Dad, and Muffin play the game “Veranda Santa” because they don’t have a chimney for Santa to climb down. In this game, they take turns being Veranda Santa and hide presents under the others’ pillows, a lot like Santa does with our gifts under the Christmas tree. It is funny to see the gifts that they get and what they think of them. When it is Bluey’s turn, she learns a lesson about being nice to everyone, even when she doesn’t feel that everyone has been nice to her.
I remembered watching this episode a while ago when I was reading the book, so I was able to hear the voices in my head and it was more fun that way. The pictures in the book are big, bright, and Christmassy. Kids who love Bluey will love this book because it’s just like the episode that they’ve probably seen, and if they haven’t, then they’ll learn a fun new game to play at their house!
