Duck’s Backyard
Duck’s Backyard is the story of a duck with a lame leg who meets a blind chicken and they go on an adventure together, not liking each other at first, but learning more about each other as they go. The duck doesn’t like to go anywhere outside of his backyard, while the chicken wants to travel around the world, and she really wants Duck to come with her. Duck agrees and they set off on an adventure to a place where they can say their wishes and they will come true. Duck and Chicken find a surprise at the end.
Duck’s Backyard is a longer book, like a chapter book, but there are no chapters. The story has funny parts that I laughed out loud at, and also some bigger words that I had to have explained to me. The story is easy to understand and is a fun one to read with a good beginning, middle, and end that I didn’t see coming. I’d like to read more adventures of Duck and Chicken, especially after they both learned things about themselves at the end and changed their wishes to something better.
