Your rating determines everything: your home, school, and public services. Good ratings mean good lives. If you lose your job or fail that math test, your rating will go down. If it’s too low, you can’t go to the best hospital, you might get expelled from school, or you could lose your home. The ratings are real. But when someone tags the school with “The ratings are not real”, some have doubts. The ratings are real. Aren’t they?
Together, six unlikely friends must find out the truth about this twisted system; and decide whether they want to question the rigid rules of their society… or pay the price.
I really enjoyed this book. It had such believable characters; that was my favorite part about it. I like dystopian stories. The chapters switch from person to person, which was neat. However, I would not suggest this book to younger readers for a couple of reasons. One, there is some kissing. Two, one of their fathers is a drunk. Also, I felt like it was a little confusing towards the end, but I figured it out, and am constantly re-reading my favorite parts. I seriously recommend this book, it’s awesome!
