Music Boxes
Lindsey and her family have just moved to New York City from Nebraska, so that her sister, Bridget, could go to Juilliard to play the violin. Lindsey had always loved dancing, but she is afraid that the class her mom signed her up for in the New York City will not be as good as the dance school she went to in Nebraska. One day, while she is walking down the street, Madame Destinee, a dancer, comes out of a studio and asks Lindsey to be a part of their dance school. This new school is very strange. Students from all over the world appear at the performances each night, and these performances happen so late at night that Lindsey must sneak out after her family goes to sleep. Something is not quite right with Madame Destinee, but will Lindsey be able to figure it out?
This was a very exciting book, and not what I expected. The mysterious dance world that Madame Destinee brings Lindsey into is almost like a dream but is also a little scary too. I couldn’t wait to find out all the secrets of the dance studio and the late-night performances, and to find out who the real Madame Destinee is.
