Part-time Mermaid
Part Time Mermaid is about a girl who is a normal human by day but a mermaid by night. At the stroke of midnight, her legs disappear and turn into a tail. Then she goes down a waterslide into the ocean. There she plays with the sea creatures, rescues a boat, goes to a party, and even explores Coney Island. In the morning, she’s a normal girl again.
I love this book! I also love another book in the series called Part-Time Princess. In that story, she’s a girl by day and a princess by night. The illustrations in this book are fantastic. There is so much on every page. There is a great picture in which she’s going to her room in the sea castle. It’s so magical. I love looking at all the windows and sea creatures and plants. Also, there is an octopus who shows up on almost every page doing all sorts of funny things. I also love how when she turns into a mermaid, her stuffed animals turn into sea creatures too. If I were her, my favorite activity would be when she goes to the MidSummer Sea Festival, with singing and dancing. This book would be good for people who like mermaids, adventure, and the ocean.
