Wordy Birdy
Wordy Birdy is a funny story about a bird that likes to talk but never lets anyone reply. One day Wordy Birdy takes a walk in the woods. Her friends Racoon, Squirrel, and Rabbit try to make her walk back away from the danger, but Wordy Birdy doesn’t listen because she is distracted by everything that’s going on in the forest. She walks past the danger sign, across a vegetable patch in danger of farmers shooing her away, and is fascinated by white circles and triangles in the dark that suspiciously look like a bear’s eyes and teeth. Her friends manage to warn her in the very last second, and Wordy Birdy learns an important lesson! I liked this book because it teaches younger kids the importance of listening to others and paying attention. I also liked the beautiful pictures of the cute animals and the different techniques the artist used. I would recommend reading this great read aloud to kids four and up!
