D Is for Dress Up: The ABC’s of What We Wear
This is all about the ABCs of what we wear! I think that’s funny. Did somebody say that U is for “underwear”? That part made me laugh. In this book, the author is Maria Carluccio. She uses the ABCs to show different kinds of clothing. The illustrations are of kids in clothing. The pictures look like paintings in soft colors that make the clothing look soft, too. There is no story in this book, but I could make one up someday. The kids in this book are doing activities like blowing bubbles and playing in the rain with raincoats. My favorite parts are the letters M for “mittens,” T for “tee shirts,” and I for “ice skates.” I have read a lot of alphabet books before, but this one is my new favorite because I love to laugh because of the surprising clothing and alphabet matches.
I think that readers who love the alphabet and clothing will enjoy this book. It is really a book for very young children, but I really liked it, too.
