First Team
This book is about a kid named Brock Nickerson. He is a great kid but his dad’s past makes it hard for him to settle in one place and make friends. His dad promises this time will be different. Brock has an accurate, strong throwing arm and he knows that he will make a great quarterback. The town that he lives in already has a first team quarterback, but Brock knows he is better than that kid. I think a lot of kids can relate to this type of favoritism in sports. Brock makes a new friend Mak and together they come up with a plan to get Brock that coveted first team quarterback position. The author Tim Green wrote a book, New Kid, before this one; I haven’t read that one yet, but I hope to do so soon. I love the fact that Time Green used to be an NFL linebacker and now is an author. This is a great book and I loved the ending. This book kept my attention until the very end. I would recommend this book to my friends if they like football like me.
