The Case of the Girl in Grey (The Wollstonecraft Detective Agency, Book 2)
The Wollstonecraft Detective Agency, Book No. 2, The Case of the Girl in Grey, was a very morbid and sad story. It would appear that way to most readers. The author has selected to write with a very graceful craft, with very elegant characters in the story, too. The book was about four very courageous female detectives. They solve a case about a man who has married one woman, and then moved on to marry her twin sister. Their names are Lizzie (Elizabeth), and Alice. They do not know they are related until the end of the story.
To me, the story was very gray. That is the word I would use for this book. There were some very dramatic moments, but then they just turn dull at the end, leaving the reader thinking gloomily and gray. One thing I liked about the story was how perseverant all of the detectives were. Even when times were tough, they kept working through it all, to get to the bottom of the case. Sometimes I would make a connection with the character Ada specifically, because she likes to figure out codes and write them, just as I do, also. The author of this book is Jordan Stratford, and the illustrations by Kelly Murphy.
