A Cold Case
A Cold Case is a book that follows Jake as he tries to crack the oldest cold case in Massachusetts, the 1961 case of the two missing girls, Kateri and Patricia. It all starts when Jake buys a Tom Swift book for his collection, and he discovers a note inside from Trish to Kateri. He never would have taken any interest in the letter again if it wasn’t for the paper that came a couple days later. It had an article about the oldest cold case in the state, which interested Jake, so he ends up searching for more evidence. He finds out a lot about Trish and Kate and learns that sometimes cold cases should stay that way.
This book was very interesting and believable. I could relate to the characters, and I could empathize with them. The whole book felt like one big journey, finding out about Trish, Kate, and hard truths that might have been better left undiscovered. The whole time it leaves you wondering, will Jake crack the case? Or maybe the question is should he? By the end of the book, I found myself wondering if this story was fictional or not. The book leaves a real impression on the reader, and I probably spent half an hour just thinking about it after I was done. I would recommend this to anyone who likes mysteries or romances.
