In Warrior, Ellen Oh continues the story of Kira, a warrior with a tiger spirit and the only girl soldier in Hansong. Oh, she’s also a feared and famous demon slayer, part of an ancient prophecy, and destined to save the world—but she has no idea what to do next.

Personally, I felt this second book in the Prophecy series brought a different side to Kira. She is a fierce, skillful fighter and a hero, but having seen her through so much she becomes more believable and a more appealing character as you read on. I guess being something of a tomboy myself, I could really relate to Kira and share many of her feelings and views throughout the story. So much happened in this book, and the characters were developed even further; I feel like I really got to know them. Ellen Oh’s writing is fast-paced and full of action. I almost felt I was watching a movie as I read it! It kept me on the edge of my seat and there was a new danger or mystery at every turn—I admit that I stayed up many-a-night WAYYY too long reading it and now look forward to Kira’s next return!
