Voyagers: Project Alpha (Book1)
Dash Conroy is a candidate for Project Alpha, training at a top-secret facility with seven other candidates to be tested to see which of them will be chosen to go on the dangerous journey to the other side of the galaxy and far out into the universe. So when Dash and three of the other candidates, Carly, Gabriel, and Piper, are sent into space, they figure out and are told that the people training them have not been entirely truthful. They also realize their mission is going to be more dangerous than they ever suspected, and they also realize they cannot return until they have collected The Source, which is the reason for their mission – it is the power that earth needs to survive.
It was very interesting to read about this unique story line. Not only do the characters have unique, individual personalities, but the author also made the story different by changing a lot of things in a few sentences, like what the children believed and what they thought was going to happen. Suddenly the story was far more dangerous. I liked the relationships Dash and his friends had with each other, and how they weren’t entirely independent.
