The Wagon Train Trek (The Oregon Trail)
The Oregon Trail/ is a series of Choose Your Own Adventure-style books with different titles. This book’s title is The Wagon Train Trek. When you open the book, there’s a pixelated map that shows you where this series takes place. Set in 1855, on the difficult journey to the western United States, there are loads of diseases, venomous snakes, deadly rivers, and violent snowstorms to navigate. You are traveling with your Pa and Ma along with your two Newfoundland dogs, George Washington & King George III, to your new home in Oregon City. There are more than twenty possible endings, but so many are sad and end in death! It was rough on the trail! At least the pixelated video game illustrations throughout the book are funny. I’ve read fifteen of the endings so far and my favorite stories have other families on the trek. There are six books total in this series, and I look forward to reading them all. I recommend this book for ages eight and up. This book is one-hundred-and-seventy-one pages long, so if you like the idea of reading until you find an ending you like, THIS is the book for you.
