Rapunzel
I am giving this book four stars instead of five stars because it is about love, and love is yucky! Besides the love, it is interesting. The story is about a man and a woman who get married, and, after many years, the woman is going to have a baby. She wanted to eat some rapunzel that is down in the garden of an evil enchantress (that means witch). Her husband loves her (yuck!), so he goes into the garden and gets the rapunzel. The enchantress catches the husband. She demands that he repay her for stealing the rapunzel by giving her the baby. That does not sound like a fair trade to me.
The enchantress locks poor Rapunzel in a tower in the middle of a forest, far away from people. I am sure that is very lonely! She finds a friend eventually when a prince hears her singing. But, when that mean old enchantress finds out, she sends Rapunzel away and attacks the prince!
Will Rapunzel and the prince ever find each other again, or has the enchantress won? This is a good story with beautiful pictures. I think everyone should read it, unless they are grossed out by love.
