Mi Comida Latina: Vibrant, Fresh, Simple, Authentic
This beautiful cookbook introduces you to authentic, delicious South American cuisine. It includes dishes from Cuba, Peru, Ecuador, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and more. The author compiled these recipes from home cooks during her travels in South America. They use the freshest, local ingredients, and simple preparation.
This book is so cool! Every page is hand-drawn. The words are written by hand, and the pictures are hand-drawn and colored. It is really pretty. The style is vivacious and vivid, and each recipe is deliciously illustrated. You can learn to make Aji Criollo, which is an Ecuadoran hot sauce, or Lomo Saltado, a Peruvian beef and potato stir-fry. The recipe for tamales is more complex than many, but the steps are so clearly defined and the illustrations so fun that you will feel confident you can attempt them with success. There are main dishes, sauces, drinks and desserts, as well as a tips and techniques section and a glossary at the back that explains unusual or unfamiliar ingredients, accompanied by little pictures that will help you identify them.
For anyone wanting an authentic survey of South American culinary delights, this book is sure to satisfy.
