Kingfisher Readers L1: Tyrannosaurus (Kingfisher Readers. Level 1)
In this book there are dinosaurs. They tell you how to pronounce them. Some of the dinosaurs are Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops, and Edmontosaurus. I learned that the animals a Tyrannosaurus hunts are called his “prey.” I did not know about that before so that was new. In the back of this book there is a glossary. I like a book that has a glossary. Some of the words in this glossary are “dinosaur,” “extinct,” “fossils,” “prey,” and “scientist.” I liked reading about how the Tyrannosaurus hunts. “Tyrannosaurus runs after his prey. He runs on his toes. His tail sticks out behind him. The tail helps Tyrannosaurus keep his balance.” Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus have a fight. This book has illustrations that look like the dinosaurs are real. There is even a Tyrannosaurus named Sue! “You can tell just by looking at Sue that Tyrannosaurus was a big, fierce dinosaur!” I like many dinosaurs and I am a member of a Dino Club. I think the other members of the Dino Club would like this book a lot!
