A Sea Voyage
This book is awesome! It’s a pop-up book about all kinds of boats. There is a story, too, all told in rhyme, about two people who go sailing with their dog. While they are sailing, they pass lots of different boats. There is a pilot boat to guide them out of the harbor and a lifeboat to rescue the dog when he falls overboard. Some of the boats are from long ago, like the caravel or the tall clipper ship, and others are from modern day, like the ocean liner. Most of the ships are modeled after a specific ship of that kind, and you learn a little about the type of ship on each page. The paper models have a lot of intricate parts and layers, and it is really cool to see how big each ship was compared to the family’s little sailboat. The only colors are blue, gray, red, black, and white, so you feel like you are out sailing on the ocean with this family. There are lots of things to look at and admire, and you will want to look through this book over and over. This is one of the best pop-up books ever!
