Will Wilder: The Relic of Perilous Falls
This story starts at Will Wilder’s brother’s eighth birthday. When Will gets on a donkey at the party, it goes berserk, sending Will flying. Will lands on a catapult’s release lever and sends his brother, Leo, flying into the neighbor’s fence, breaking his arm. The family vacation is canceled, and Will is forced to help his church with their planting as punishment. Strange things begin to happen: boats get overturned and a captain appears to talk with Will about a relic under the church. When the captain says the relic can heal Leo’s arm, Will and his friends borrow the relic to heal Leo and save the family trip. However, the captain wants the relic himself first. When Will gives it to him, the captain turns out to be an ancient demon and steals it. Can Will get the relic back?
Overall, I like this book. The characters have interesting backgrounds, and I found parts of it funny. I do wish the final battle scene had been longer. The book has a heavy Christian influence with all the powerful objects related to famous Christians. I would recommend this book to people who like magical adventures.
