Wild One is a rhyming picture book for bedtime. The main character is a smiling little girl called Wild One. Everything she does is compared to different animals: one picture shows her on a slide or monkey bars, and the drawing on the next page shows how her action is similar to an animal’s in the same place. For example, Wild One stretches in the grass and the flip page shows a cat stretching its back in the same way. The girl’s story starts at the playground, then she meets friends, goes to the pool, eats dinner, and goes to bed. The story ends with bedtime.

The book is fun to read to yourself, and the words are easy, and it’s probably a good book for a parent to read to a little child because of the rhymes and rhythmic repetition of “wild one” at the beginning of every sentence. The illustrations are cute and colorfully painted with watercolors. The “wild” girl character looks like she has fun in her different activities. She likes to do different active things, like swimming and going to the park. All the animals are cute and friendly. Any beginning reader who likes animals and likes to play outside will enjoy this book.
