Where Will I Live?
Where Will I Live? is a book about refugee children wondering where they will live. The illustrations are real photographs of refugee children. We see their families pack their things and leave their homes by walking, by boat, or by running. They do not know where they will end up living. The children do not know where they will sleep, whether in a tent, in the streets, under a carpet, or in a refugee camp. These refugee children have so many questions about where they will live.
I loved reading Where Will I Live?, but it is hard to think about kids in this world who do not have a safe place to live. This book is quick and easy to read, but the photographs make me think more about the actual kids who are refugees. I love that the photographs show real refugee kids and what it is like where they were living. Each photograph labels the location, so we can see the different countries that have refugee children. I would recommend Where Will I Live? to families who want to learn and talk more about refugee children. If I were a refugee, I would want to find a safe home where people would say “welcome home.”
