Where the Road Leads Us
“I like the idea of having no particular destination. Then I’m never disappointed if I don’t get there.”
Jack turned eighteen, graduated high school, and broke up with his girlfriend all on the same day. Hallie has news she’s afraid to say out loud because if she does, it becomes real. Two spur-of-the-moment decisions, one to visit a dying friend the other to seek out an estranged brother, lead to the unlikely pair on a road trip that could change their lives. Nothing is as simple as it seems, leading to a few misadventures, hiccups, and friendships that will never be forgotten.
Jack and Hallie are lost, unsure what to do with themselves, so they do the most illogic thing they can: go on a road trip with strangers to see people who are almost strangers. Each character was different, with hobbies and personalities, but everyone had too much wisdom to share throughout the whole book, making it a little odd at places. Whether you’re about to graduate or just feel lost in life, Jack and Hallie’s story tells us that it’s okay, everything will work out the way it’s supposed to, even if it’s not what you expected. There’s heavy cussing spread throughout.
