When a Dragon Moves In Again
Everyone knows that if you build a nice castle, a dragon will come and call it home. This story is about a little boy fixing up a room for his baby-brother-to-be. He’s having a perfectly good time helping his Dad nail boards that look like castles onto the sides of the crib. But why has the baby come so early? Because that’s not the baby, a dragon has moved in! They become fast friends in no time and have great fun bouncing around in the crib until his parents say, “That’s for the baby!” Finally the little baby comes and the dragon and boy decide to entertain him. First, they show him what bowling is by rolling a rubber ball into all his different colored milk bottles. But then they’re not allowed to do that anymore. Next the little boy decides to ride on the dragon’s back. The baby likes watching. If only his parents felt the same way. It keeps going on like this and the little boy tries to explain it’s the dragon’s fault for each disaster, but his parents don’t believe in dragons. The boy gets mad at the baby and the dragon because he’s taking the blame. Finally, when he comforts his crying brother, he realizes that maybe having a baby brother isn’t so bad after all.
It’s the story of how sometimes being a big brother is not quite what you expected and suddenly no one’s paying attention to you anymore. It’s an especially good book for little kids who are about to be big brothers and sisters. The whole book is hilarious. I especially like when they are bowling with bottles. Whether or not you have a dragon, you will enjoy this story.
