Whatshisface
Cooper Vega is used to being a “whatshisface.” As a military child, you don’t get to know people for long, and when you do, you have to move all over again. When Cooper moves to the town of Stratford, he thought that this would be just another town and that they were going to move soon anyways, so what’s the use of developing friendships? He plans to just let this town slide until he hears about a mysterious man called The Wolf, who is an avid fan of Shakespeare’s works. Near that time, Cooper’s new phone, called the GX-4000, the latest in technology, starts malfunctioning and starts to take place as a human.
Gordon Korman’s Whatshisface is a book that shines light on friendships and on not being recognized. I personally really like Gordon Korman’s books, but this one seemed to lack a certain feeling. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not like I don’t like the book. But when I read it, it didn’t really stick out to me as a very unique or special book. Did I like it? Of course. But I wouldn’t recommend it to my friends. This was based on my own taste, so you might like this book better than me or relate to it more. But in my opinion, it was just a normal book.
