An engaging picture book that adds Spanish vocabulary while documenting a day in Little Lobo’s life. Every day, Little Lobo and his dog, Bernabé, go to the market and deliver supplies to their friends. He goes to señor Duende, who owns the comic stand, to deliver “pizas para la ropa”, or clothespins. Little Lobo reads the “El Toro” comic while eating a churro. Yum! Wouldn’t it be great if he got to actually meet El Toro! Little Lobo has saved the best store for last. Whom could it be other than his favorite muscle man ever? He gets an autograph and gives his hero a ride back home in his delivery cart. As author Raul the Third says, “Tomorrow they will have another busy day.”.

This book is directed towards young kids with very little Spanish, but even I enjoyed this picture book and would read it again. The pictures are very detailed and colorful. Some objects are labeled in Spanish reminding me of the Richard Scary’s series. Complete with a glossary (but no pronunciation guide) at the end of the book, this is sure to be a hit with native Spanish speakers and those just learning the language.
