Unhappy Camper

Meet Michelle and Claire! They are sisters, but they are not close with each other. Michelle wants to be cool and popular, and Claire loves being Taiwanese and being herself. Then Michelle gets enrolled in Taiwanese American camp with Claire! Michelle really hates it and tries everything she can to still get attention from her friends. Will she eventually be proud of who she is, or continue to want to fit in?

I liked the book, but I think that the author’s first book, Measuring Up, was a bit better. I also didn’t like how the book I got was black and white. The book is more fun and happy in color. I thought the art was so cute, and I enjoyed the details though! My favorite character was Claire because she was always proud of who she was. I didn’t like Michelle much because she cared too much about being cool and popular, and that was annoying for me.

I recommend this book to people who like stories about sisters, Taiwan, or camp.
