Ugly

This book was about a kid name Hoge who was born a little different from the normal child. He was born with half of his legs gone and with a big lump on his face. He had a difficult childhood because he had to go through many bad things, including being bullied, surgeries gone wrong, and having no friends. He had a lot of very complex surgeries to make him look better, but all the doctors knew he would never look the same as all the other kids.

This book is an interesting book. There were great plot twists and a good story line. The beginning was a little slow, though. This book would be good for anyone ten and above. The book was a really good size. But the ending was a bit abrupt. I wish the book would have gone even further and told how Hoge’s life is now, as an adult. The characters were developed well and had realistic personalities. I thought the book would be inspirational, but it was quite depressing.
