Truly Tyler (Emmie & Friends)
Middle schooler Tyler Ross has an easy life playing basketball with his friends and teammates. Things start to change when Tyler discovers art is something else he likes, but his friends have been giving him a hard time. Artistic Emmie Douglass is no cool person, but when she partners up with her crush, Tyler, things are looking up for her. Middle school isn’t always perfect, unfortunately. Things like being made fun of for how you dress, and how cool you should be, and worse, Tyler’s friends start making fun of him, thinking he should stick with basketball and that Emmie isn’t cool enough for him.
A great graphic novel about being your truest self and trusting your truest friends. This middle-grade story couldn’t be any better. Truly Tyler is a great follow-up to the previous books in the Emmie & Friends series. Check them all out if you like this book. I love the little details in the backgrounds and the funny description arrows. The book was so funny I couldn’t put the book down! There were so many parts I found funny. Truly Tyler is truly a delight!
