There is a magic party chicken. Which is awesome. I didn’t know about party chickens, but I do now, and I love them. It is a little confusing, but I liked it.

This book is about a girl named Ava. She’s eleven, and when she takes a wrong turn after school, she discovers an evil scientist whom she must conquer with the help of a magic party chicken. And instead of saying “OMG,” she says… “bacon and cheese,” which was really funny. I think the evil scientist should be in an insane asylum (it’s for people who are, well, INSANE).

I also liked that the story was surprising because I never knew what was going to happen next. The characters were funny; there were still jokes that made me laugh. The illustrations by Natalya Kljajic helped me picture everything, especially the magic party chicken and the action scenes. I would recommend this book to people who like adventure, magic, and silly humor. I would love to read this again or read other books by Bella Olson because this one was entertaining and made me laugh.
