Trapped in a Video Game (Book 4): Return to Doom Island
Jesse is suspicious about Mr. Gregory, who is Charlie’s dad; Jesse thinks he might be a robot. Jesse and Charlie decide to see if they can find some proof that Mr. Gregory is a robot. In their search Jesse walks into the bathroom and sees Mr. Gregory plugging some kind of charger into his thumb. Jesse has to look into it more, so the next day he goes back to the house, and they find a huge collection of old video games in Mr. Gregory’s basement. Mr. Gregory catches the boys in the basement, and things go crazy. Robots start attacking the boys, and Jesse gets sucked into the Doom Island video game. Will the boys be able to escape this 8-bit world?
I really enjoyed reading this book, even though there are some parts that were kind of creepy. The boys in the story seemed like they would be good friends to have, and it was fun to read about the old-fashioned video games. I also enjoyed the drawings and how, when the characters went into the 8-bit world, the drawings were 8-bit as well.
