Trapped Behind Nazi Lines: The Story of the U.S. Army Air Force 807th Medical Evacuation Squadron (Encounter: Narrative Nonfiction Stories)

This book is based on a true story. It is about the US Army Air Force 807th Medical Evacuation Squad, a team of doctors, nurses, and pilots flying to a nearby hospital to help wounded soldiers. On their way there was a miscommunication and they all knew that they had to make a crash landing. What they didn’t know is that they landed in enemy territory. Once they found out they were in Nazi territory they knew they might not make it out alive.

This book was great because it is adventurous and historical. It is an exciting story of survival. Any one eleven and over would like this book. The book is best for someone interested in WWII. It’s great that there are photos and a timeline in the back of the book. The timeline in the back of the book helps the reader understand the story. The book is a great size so it doesn’t overwhelm the reader with facts. It was a little confusing because at the beginning it switched between multiple groups of people.
