Tim, a strong and stubborn triceratops, travels through time to save his friend, Larry, a dopey diplodocus. Tim and Larry live in the prehistoric age. Tim knocks Larry down during a little fight. Larry falls and creates a huge crater, and releases a preserved time machine that chooses Tim to be its pilot.

Once this story picks up speed, it is hard to stop reading about Tim and Larry’s adventures. There are some surprises in the story. There are also lots of funny, sad, and exciting moments as the two dinosaurs travel to the present (where Larry is being chased by a mad man in a bus), and in a spooky, hideous future (where giant bugs rule the world).

The characters are sweet and lively, showing a big range of emotions. There are some illustrations, about one per chapter, showing the cute dinosaurs on their adventure. The moral of the story is that no matter where you are and what time you are in, friendship is really important. This is an exciting and fun fantasy that would make a great series for children ages eight to twelve years.
