This Raging Light
I enjoyed This Raging Light a lot. It’s not my favorite but I was still able to feel entertained and satisfied at the end of the book. Lucille’s family has fallen to pieces the moment her dad has a breakdown and her mother has left both Lucille and her nine year old sister to fend for themselves. The problem is, is that she doesn’t come back and Lucille isn’t yet eighteen, making it a huge problem for the two girls to be living on their own. Then there’s the high to her messed up life; Digby. She didn’t expect to feel so much for a boy when things at home aren’t good. But it was what it was.
I enjoyed the romance, it had angst, swoon moments, and best of all, it make me feel. I didn’t expect for the story to be so deep; so exceptionally well written. If you’re going into this thinking its a light, fluffy read, then don’t. It’s so much more than that. It’s a story about a young girl doing the best she can so that she and her younger sister can survive. It truly opens eyes to those out there that aren’t always as lucky to get a loving and supportive family. It also shows that family isn’t just blood.
