This Might Hurt a Bit
Kirby has to live the day of a one-year anniversary of a traumatic event in his life. He thinks that the day can’t get any worse. However, the night before him and his friends, PJ and Jake, vandalized someone’s property unknowing the consequences that would follow them the next day. That’s when Kirby realizes that it would be a lot more unpleasant than he could ever imagine. This book is about friendship, bullies, and the love of family. It was very funny and always made me want to keep reading. What I thought was cool is that most of the book’s setting is in one day. I also liked how everything connected. Meaning, one thing leads to the next thing and so on. Because the main characters have different distinctive personalities it was never boring. The author did a good job with description making it very easy to imagine the story. The author also did a good job of making the book and Kirby relatable. This book consists of many pages so it did take a little bit longer to read. All in all, I do recommend this book to other readers.
