There’s Something Wild in There

We would give this book 100 stars if we could. This book is unique in that the story of its creation is as interesting as the book. The illustrations were done by a man who died before he could write the words. His widow met a young girl on a train that wanted to be a writer. We think it was so great that three girls were able to write the words for his beautiful pictures. We really like that they tell you all about how the book was published and a little bit about each of their lives.

I love the pictures in the book. You get to find all kinds of different animals hidden in them, for example deer and raccoons. Although the cover is spooky the pictures inside are marvelous. The words are superb and describe each animal in a lovely way but so that you can still discover what each animal is that you are looking for in the pictures. There IS something wild in there, on each and every page!
